It has been several weeks of little painting. That does not mean I am not working on gaming projects. Just it does not involve a paintbrush. Board games and books have been brought out working on projects.
While going through the basement looking to clean out some of the clutter I found this model kit box. I bought it at NJCon on a whim. I figured that I could put it to use for my 15mm figures.
While not a strange purchase it was out of the norm for me. What is the strangest purchase you have ever made for your gaming hobby?
Well, not sure it counts as strange but... I have bought a lot of stuff that seemed like a good idea at the time, but then never got used.
ReplyDeleteLike when I started to assemble 20mm german forces for Normandy. I decided to go with 12th SS hitlerjugend. I knew they had panthers and panzer IV's, but what more did they have. I heard they had Jagdpanthers, and managed to track down two of the Out of production Matchbox kits.
Then I bought some photoetched skirts since the Matchbox kits didn't have any, only to realise that the skirts were 1/72 while the matchbox kits were 1/76. So I bought some new Revell Jagdpanthers. But then I learned that 12th SS had Jagdpanzer IV's in Normandy, they only recieved Jagdpanthers during battle of the bulge.
So now I have four Jagdpanthers in two different scales that I don't need... somewhere at the back of the stash. ;-)

ReplyDeleteLeif - that pretty much accounts for everything I've ever bought to do with wargaming!
I agree, Leif's plight is the same for some many of us.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear I'm not the only one guys!!!
