We also have over buying. What is the acceptable limit of American Pershings, and German King Tigers and all of the limited production runs on hunting animals like Jagdpanthers and Jagdtigers. Yet most World War II gamers will have these at the ready. Maybe needed for Flames of War but what about more respectable platoon level games like Chain of Command that has been released in recent years? For me I even have the guilty secret of having Brummbär that I have not used. Ok, not that bad of a secret.
So as I am trying to go over things that I need to finish up I found a campaign system that I was working on for early Cold War naval battles based on the period of post war conversions for submarines and the early nuclear boats. What can I say I have a think for the Skipjacks. So please follow along as I work on playtests, rules and more importantly, where do you find these models.
With me it's aircraft. I have far too many of Brewsters tubby wonder the the F2A Buffalo and the less said about the number of F-104 Starfighters I own the better. I also collect obscure planes produced by minor nations, I have Yugoslav Ik-Z fighters, about twelve built in real life, in three scales. But hey it's better than being addicted to drugs or gambling. Well that's what I keep telling myself.

I have also been bitten by the aircraft bug. Besides the F2A I have a thing for inter-war period aircraft in general and French in particular. So Fatman (sorry but that is how I know you) what is your preferred scale?
DeleteNo apology needed I've been known as Fatman for 30 years. I have a huge collection of WW II in 1/300th and a smaller, but growing, collection in 1/600th. Most of my 1/600th is cold war/modern. I also have a few dozen larger, 1/144th; 1/100th and 1/72nd, mostly for use as air support in land games. If I had to choose only one scale I'd go for 1/600th these days.

Do you have any suggestions or tutorials on how to base 1/600 scale aircraft. I love them, but they are hard to base.
